QSA has been called by the customer to provide a retrofit of its quench tank using 2 different products ( polymer at low concentration and water+salt) with which he was getting either low hardenability in the cross section ( poor % of martensite at different locations) and high distortions and high risks of cracking .
After survey by QSA technical team of the tank and its agitation, QSA accepted to provide a brand new technology of agitation totally different of the one used previously .
For its new extension of capabilities, a well known company in the plate making market contacted QSA to be part of the huge project since the beginning ( layout design start) for the quenching part of it .
Few technical proposals have been worked out and discussed with both technical engineer teams before we agreed on one.
The retained solution is using one tank of capacity of 165 m3 connected to 2 storage tanks of water and polymer quenchant .
QSA has developed and installed several turnkey quenching equipments at different location over the world for forged rings.
